Muster

A muster is a gathering of fife and drum corps.  The Deep River Muster, the largest in the United States, has participants from the United States and may have visiting corps from Switzerland, Holland, England, Ireland, or Canada.  They often have over 70 corps participating.

At Deep River, there is no competition; however, trophies are awarded for the corps traveling the furthest, the most in line, and the newest.  A bowl is awarded to the group with the highest quotient of marchers by miles traveled.

Tattoo

The Tattoo is a concert featuring four to six corps.  At the Deep River Muster the tattoo takes place on a baseball field the Friday evening before the muster.  There is very little bleacher seating and no covering is provided.

Parade and Concert

Deep River has a parade on Saturday that usually will start at noon.  After the parade, each corps that marched in the parade is invited to perform a four minute concert.

Deep River does not have any re-enactor events; however, some musters may.

The majority of musters occur in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.  There are occasional musters in Virginia and California
